Passwords Cannot Be Reset On Various Student Accounts

Priority: High

Status: Resolved

The issue is currently resolved and users should now be able to reset passwords without requiring IT support.

Description:

An issue has been identified by the AMS IT Department where users trying to change their passwords are met with an error that their password does not meet the complexity requirements (no matter what password they use) or the page will just not load correctly.

Resolution:

This issue was caused by the fact that there was still some integration with old servers that had been planned to be shut down at a further date. When users tried to reset a password, the old servers could not verify if the password met complexity requirements. This timeline was escalated and all student accounts that were encountering issues have been converted to full Microsoft 365 that are no longer dependent on those servers.

Users should now be able to reset passwords without encountering issues.
